I august 2014 udkom hans andet album, Palace of Tears, med ti nye sange.

"The title track Palace of Tears was inspired by my memories of working in the former East Germany. The Berliners had a nickname for one of the checkpoints in the wall; this was a tube station in Friedrichstrasse and was used to visit their relatives in the East. On the way back it was a place of goodbyes, hence the beautifully ironic name 'Der Tränenpalast', The Palace Of Tears."

"A strikingly original musician, who is not only multi-skilled but also has an instinctive ability to engage with his audience ... Cooper's knack for evoking atmosphere – from the tranquillity of an English pastoral scene to the desolation and loneliness of the Arctic – made this a compelling and enthralling evening."
Nicola Lisle, Oxford Times
Anne Edelstam, Tidningen Kulturen
"Cooper has stepped beyond the cultural and geographical confines of the British Isles and opened himself up to the musical styles and stories to be told from all of Northern Europe. It works incredibly well, he continues to develop as a songwriter and impress as a multi-instrumentalist."
Spiral Earth
Stemme, mandolin og cello – that's all! Men hold da op, hvor det virker!"
Allan E. Petersen, rootszone.dk
"Songs of love, loss regret and defiance. Songs with a sense of longing, belonging and something lost a long time ago. Listening to Ray's voice makes you realise where the power in those songs comes from - depth and energy that demands attention."
FolkWords
"Cooper exhibits a masterful musicianship and song writing (...) Ray possesses a formidable voice, always strong but subtle in its execution of the songs he has written"
Iain Hazlewood, Spiral Earth
